Two suspects are behind bars after making threats to the clerks office in the Cleveland County Courthouse on Wednesday afternoon.
On April 1, 2026, the Cleveland County Clerk’s Office received two bomb threats within
approximately one hour of each other. In response, the building was immediately secured and safely evacuated in accordance with established emergency protocols. Emergency personnel conducted a thorough search of the premises and subsequently determined the building to be clear.
An investigation conducted by the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office led to the identification and arrest of two individuals in connection with these incidents.
Trenity Glenn Campbell and Angel Lee McManus, both of Bessemer City, have each been charged with one count of Making a False Report Concerning a Destructive Device (NCGS 14-69.1(c)).
Bond Information: (continued below local ads)
Both Campbell and McManus received no bond and are being held at the Cleveland
County Detention Center.
Sheriff Norman said he takes all threats to public safety seriously and remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of county facilities and citizens.
