Pinnacle Classical Academy top shelf in ‘U.S. News’ high school rankings for county

Pinnacle Classical Academy has the top-ranked high school in Cleveland County, according to the newly released U.S. News Best High Schools Rankings for 2025.
Pinnacle Classical Academy ranks among the top 9% of more than 24,000 public high schools in the nation, among the top 10% of public high schools in North Carolina, and among the top 11% of charter high schools in the nation, according to the rankings.

"These rankings show that families don't have to leave Cleveland County for a top-notch college-preparatory education," said Pinnacle CEO, Dr. Shelly Shope. "We're so proud of our faculty and staff for their hard work and are grateful for the support of so many parents and community members."

Founded in 2013, Pinnacle Classical Academy is a tuition-free public charter school in Shelby. According to U.S. News & World Report, it is ranked among the best elementary schools, best middle schools, and best high schools in the nation.
