Pinnacle Classical Academy announced today, 90% of Pinnacle’s 2023-24 graduates took at least one dual-enrollment course in high school.
The data was based on a report submitted to the North Carolina General Assembly by the State Board of Education.
Across North Carolina, 36% of 2023-24 graduates took at least one dual enrollment course, according to the 2025 report.
According to data collected, there were 115 local school administrative units and 210 charter schools in North Carolina in 2023-24.
Pinnacle Classical Academy's 90% participation rate ranked third among these 325 public school units, behind only Chatham Charter School , in Siler City, and Northeast Regional School of Biotechnology and Agriscience, in Jamesville.
"We're very grateful for our partnership with Cleveland Community College, which has allowed so many of our students to take dual-enrollment courses," said Pinnacle Classical Academy's CEO, Dr. Shelly Shope.

“Over 65% of the members of our class of 2024 graduated with an associate degree along with their high school diploma,” noted Shope. “College is expensive, and this partnership has helped make college more affordable for our families."
Founded in 2013, Pinnacle Classical Academy is a tuition-free public charter school.
