Lattimore swears in Aldermen, talks sewer grants

Oaths of office, sewer lines and refreshments, were the highlight of the Lattimore town meeting, Monday night.


The meeting began at 7 pm with the Board of Aldermen for the Town of Lattimore was sworn in on Monday night, Dec. 8. by Town Attorney Tom Martin.


After the swearing in, the board appointed Jackson Martin to fill the open alderman spot and to serve as Mayor Pro Tem.



Mayor Alton Beal gave an update on the status of two sewer grants and the near completion of a study on the town's sewer system.


New Town Clerk Randi Powell, who was recently hired, was introduced by Beal.



After adjournment, town residents had refreshments.


Mayor Alton Beal said he is optimistic about 2026, stating, "I believe that we will accomplish much for the town in the coming year and go forward."


The next regularly schedule meeting will be in January 2026.
