Take a photo with the Easter Bunny, and enter for a chance to win a 70" TV

Cleveland Mall – The Easter Bunny will be at the Cleveland Mall giving away two 70” televisions in a raffle drawing, thanks to Cleveland County Crime Stoppers and Road to Hope - Shelby.
Bring the kids beginning March 28, and have your picture made with the Easter Bunny, but the fun doesn’t end with a hippity-hop photo op.
A donation of $20 which will go to Road to Hope - Shelby, and the Cleveland County Crime Stoppers, will enter you for a chance to win one of two 70” Samsung TV’s, graciously donated by Walmart Distribution Center of Shelby, General Manager, Marcelo Cerizza.
However, if you can’t afford the $20 raffle donation, you can still donate towards the good cause with any amount, as Shelby Police Department Officer Randy Conner explained, stating, “How this works is, people to get to take photos of their family or just the kids with the Easter Bunny for any size donation. We don’t have a limit on the donation; whatever anyone can afford is greatly appreciated and it’s for a good cause.”
The good cause Officer Conner is referring to is the Road to Hope Shelby branch that does an annual bike ride, with road to Hope chapters from all across the nation, to raise money to help local officers in their time of need.
“One thing we do every year for police week on May 5, is we do a bicycle ride and ride to Washington,” he explained.
But it doesn’t stop there. They add to it, a bit.

Last year they rode from Shelby to Raleigh, and then trailered to Chesapeake and then rode from there to Washington, D.C.
“This year we will be starting at the state line of South Carolina over at the coast and ride up to D.C. from there,” noted Officer Conner.
Jeff Yates, Chairman of Cleveland County Crime Stoppers said the idea for the Easter Bunny photo fundraiser was thought up by his wife, Cheryl. Yates said they didn’t want to do the standard raffle, so she came up with the idea of partnering up with the Easter Bunny and Road for Hope, to do photo sessions. “Thankfully, Road to Hope was on Board with it and we couldn’t be more excited,” said Yates.
Any size donation will allow any family to take a photo with the Easter Bunny and they will offer a raffle for $20 which will qualify the raffle ticket holder to have a chance to win one of the two 70" Samsung TVs.
The event will be held on four days, across two weekends:
· Saturday March 28, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
· Sunday, March 29, 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.
· Friday, April 3, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
· Saturday, April 4, 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.
A couple days after the event ends, Road to Hope and Crime Stoppers will do a Facebook live where they will announce the winners.
“Our board at Crime Stoppers was very much for this idea because of our relationship with Road to Hope; that was a no-brainer to partner up to give away these TV and raising money for our two organizations,” added Yates.
The Shelby Road to Hope was created after Officer Tim Brackeen was killed in the line of duty.
In 2022, A new Crime Stoppers, Inc. arose in Cleveland County, with a new weapon to fight crime: an app that allows people to report crimes and those wanted by law enforcement while remaining totally anonymous and getting paid for information that leads to an arrest.
Crime Stoppers and Road to Hope said they encourage everyone to come out this weekend, and next, to have your photo taken with the Easter Bunny and enter for a chance to win a 70” Samsung TV.
