City of Kings Mountain on 2 hour delay Tuesday, notes trash collection update

The City of Kings Mountain announced that all city offices will be opening at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Solid waste will begin picking up Monday's route tomorrow once operational hours of the landfill are verified and when road conditions are safe for equipment and employees. If your normally scheduled pick-up day is Monday, please place your container by the road as usual, at or near the spot you would normally do so. The remains from the ice event may prevent you from placing it in the exact location, but please remember to keep a minimum of four feet clearance from any obstructions at the sides or rear of the container; and not blocked by a vehicle, piece of equipment, or obstacle.

The Board of Adjustment meeting scheduled for tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. and the City Council regular meeting scheduled at 6:00 p.m. have both been cancelled. Agenda items for both meetings will carry over to Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
