Cleveland Community College’s Collision Repair and Refinishing Program is proud to announce it has received a $5,000 Honda Benchmark Award grant from the Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF). This competitive award supports program maintenance and additions that enhance student learning and align with industry needs.

“We are grateful for the support from CREF and the Honda Benchmark Award,” said Amy Dulin, dean of workforce development, “which enables us to ensure our students train with current, real-world equipment and graduate ready to succeed in a growing field.”

Funds can be used to purchase essential supplies and equipment, including tools, drills, a masking machine, a welder, an air impact wrench, and personal protective equipment.

“Receiving this grant is important to our program because it provides the funds to update and upgrade our tools, supplies, and equipment,” said David Long, coordinator for the collision repair and refinishing program at CCC. “We need to do this if we are to keep pace with the evolving industry and provide the type of training that prepares our students to excel in the workplace.”

CREF is a leading nonprofit dedicated to supporting collision repair educational programs, schools, and students nationwide. Its mission is to help create a pipeline of qualified, entry-level professionals ready to meet industry demands by providing scholarships, grants, tools, and resources to schools and students.
