The Boiling Springs Christmas parade was fun for everyone, as residents, college students and some from across the county, gathered for a 57-entry parade, late Saturday afternoon.
Former Boiling Springs Mayor Daniel Thomas was the Grand Marshall of the parade, brining in the parade in a blue convertible, and ending with the jolly red-suited elf himself, Santa, who was somehow able to take time away from the North Pole to visit Boiling Springs and ride in the parade.
The holiday festivities for the day concluded with the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree at Town Hall.
"It's such a wonderful thing to see everyone come out, I've enjoyed this," said Boiling Springs resident Fred DeBelle.
Boiling Springs Elementary students performed several Christmas carols, followed Crest High School's woodwinds and brass ensemble.
"Many years ago, we envisioned having a Christmas tree lighting festival, this was put together with myself, Daniel Thomas and the council," said Council member Marty Thomas. "Every year we just strive to bring the community together and share the love. This has been amazing, the weather worked out perfectly. We couldn't be more proud."
"Today's Christmas parade and tree lighting was a wonderful reminder of what makes Boiling springs such a special community," added Council Member Justin Davis. "It was great to see so many families, neighbors and local organizations come together to celebrate the season. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be a part of days like this."
Mayor Greene said, "This is great event. This has grown into something really amazing; everyone has worked really hard on this and I hope everyone keeps coming out every year."
