Faith and Family — An evening of contemporary Christian music and familiar hymns is coming to Shelby on Saturday as the vocal trio SELAH takes the stage at First Baptist Church Shelby.
SELAH Live in Concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the church, offering an opportunity for the community to gather for an evening of live music and worship.
“We are excited, it’s always a great thing to be able to open your church doors to the community and hope it will be a fun evening for everyone who to attend,” said Bryte Scism, who is helping coordinate the event.
The Rev. Joel Mikell, music minister at First Baptist Church Shelby, said the group’s music offers an opportunity for spiritual encouragement.
“SELAH has a unique gift for pointing people to God’s faithfulness through music. We are excited to host them and anticipate a night that will strengthen hearts, deepen faith, and glorify Christ,” Mikell said.
SELAH is a vocal trio that has been performing together for nearly 30 years. According to event organizers, the group has sold more than 4 million records, received 11 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards and accumulated more than 900 million streams across digital music platforms.

General admission tickets are $25, with doors opening at 6 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door on the night of the concert for those who have not purchased them in advance.
VIP tickets are $40 and include entry at 5 p.m. and a question-and-answer session with SELAH at 5:30 p.m.
