CLEVELAND COUNTY — News happens, and The Shelby Independent wants to know about it.

Like anything, news happens every day, but if The Shelby Independent doesn’t know about it — it can’t be covered.

Some weeks are filled with one news story after another, and some weeks are slow, but whether or not it’s a busy week, it’s good to get the word out.

If you have a press release, send it to Chuck@ShelbyIndependent.com . While not everything can be covered, because nobody can be in more than one place at a time, it doesn’t hurt to send an email, stating what is concerning to you, what event is happening soon, or maybe you want to submit a letter to the editor. Just send that email and let’s see what happens.

Is construction near you causing an issue? Unsolved crime? Local government meeting or event happening soon? Did someone get a scholarship to college? Outstanding athlete? Maybe you know someone The Shelby Independent might want to highlight in a feature article — just send an email.

Is your nonprofit or an individual being recognized for something special?

Missing person? Unsolved crime?

Or maybe you want to talk about an old mystery or a historic site or event? Email The Shelby Independent.

Government agencies are encouraged to add The Shelby Independent to their PR emailing list. Chuck@ShelbyIndependent.com or ShelbyIndependent@gmail.com, either one will do.

Want to submit photos from an event? Please do! I would like to hear from you.

There’s no secret formula to knowing everything going on in Cleveland County, but with your help, The Shelby Independent can help spread the word, write about a meeting or event, share your press release, republish your photos, investigate an issue, or sit down with a person for a one-on-one interview that you won’t get anywhere else.

Email: Chuck@ShelbyIndependent or ShelbyIndependent@gmail.com. You can also tell S.I. about what’s going on, directly on the website, at the “Contact” page.

And if you’re interested in advertising your business, church, or community event, even political campaign advertising, just send an email to: Chuck@ShelbyIndependent.com .

The Shelby Independent is looking forward to hearing from you, and seeing you out and about, at the next local event.

Follow The Shelby Independent on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. To contact Chuck about a story idea, send an email or visit the contact page.
