CRIME – Cleveland County is a little safer and a woman is behind bars after a seizure of narcotics this past Friday by the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office Community Interdiction Team (CIT).


In a press release sent to media on Monday evening, it stated of a vehicle search which resulted in a reported arrest of Margaret Hager Greene.


On Friday, June 12, members of the CIT encountered a suspicious vehicle at the Broad River Greenway in Cleveland County.


During the investigation, a K-9 conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 208.3 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 32.5 grams of fentanyl.


As a result of the investigation, Greene was taken into custody and charged with:


  • Trafficking Methamphetamine


  • Trafficking Fentanyl

Greene was transported to the Cleveland County Detention Center, where she is being held under no bond.


Sheriff Norman stated, “The seizure of these dangerous narcotics is another example of the outstanding work being done by our Community Interdiction Team. Fentanyl and methamphetamine continue to devastate families and communities across our region. Every significant seizure helps prevent these deadly substances from reaching our neighborhoods and potentially saving lives. We remain committed to aggressively targeting those who traffic illegal drugs in Cleveland County.”
