Dear Editor,

I am writing to introduce myself and to congratulate you on your remarkable achievement in establishing a news outlet for the citizens of Cleveland County. As a lifelong resident of this community and a member of the Cleveland County Board of Education, I am excited to see our local news landscape grow.

I have lived in Cleveland County my entire life. I am married and a proud father of four children, all of whom attend Cleveland County Schools. It has been a great pleasure to serve on the Board of Education, where I strive to support not only our school system but also the broader community.

As a graduate of Kings Mountain High School, I understand the profound impact that a quality education can have on our students. My primary goal on the Board is to make a positive difference in our students' educational experiences. I am committed to ensuring that our policies are current and benefit all Cleveland County Schools (CCS) students and staff.

In my role as chair of the Finance Committee, I am dedicated to making prudent financial decisions that positively affect CCS.

The budget for our district consists of various accounts and funding sources, making it quite complex. In making decisions, I carefully consider all stakeholders involved, striving to base my choices on facts and reliable information. I recognize that many decisions can be difficult and may not please everyone, but I remain committed to transparency and integrity.

I am particularly proud of the initiatives I have supported, including increased teacher supplements, capital improvements for our schools, and enhanced security measures. My focus on the Board is to be a team player and prioritize the best interests of our entire school system.

I want to emphasize that my position is not about politics; it is about ensuring that our students, staff, and teachers have a safe and nurturing environment in which to learn and grow.

Thank you for your time, and once again, congratulations on your new endeavor. I look forward to seeing the positive impact your publication will have on our community.

Sincerely,

Aaron Bridges

Cleveland County Board of Education Member
