You might have noticed things look back to normal after a hot and rainy summer. School buses driving all around the county, kids walking with their book bags, and mom and dad, panicking to get the kids to school on time after the 2025 summer hiatus.

In case you’re wondering how the first day went, overall for the schools, especially if you have a kid that shrugs and says, “I don’t know,” you can sigh a bit of relief.

According to Chad Terry, communications and digital media officer for Cleveland County Schools, the first day back turned into a bright day for students across Cleveland County.

“It’s been a really awesome first day back,” said Terry. “Lots of smiles and positive energy; everyone was in a good mood.”

He noted there were no serious incidents that he was aware of, at the time of this news story, and even the weather cleared up as the day progressed.

“No incidents – none of that. It’s been a really good day. We had some rain this morning, but then the sun came out and shined down on the kids and teachers. Great first day back,” he concluded.
