Rezoning and board appointments were approved at the July meeting of the Cleveland County Board of Commissioners Tuesday night.
Tyler Falls of J. Houston Properties, LLC had requested a re-zoning of a 1.25-acre tract of land located at 208 Bell Rd., from residential zoning to Neighborhood Business-Conditional Use.
The location is to be used for administrative offices on a 24 ft x 30 ft. space. J. Houston Properties is a mobile home dealership but this will only serve as the office for the business.
Vice-Chairman of the County Commissioners, Deb Hardin said, “It looks like it fits fine” she said of the location, supporting the rezoning request.

Commissioner Doug Bridges noted the road was a little narrow but was also supportive, and the rezoning vote was unanimous in approval.
The next order of business consisted of two board appointment approvals.
Melissa Curtis, who is currently serving on the Jury Commission was reappointed for another term, while newcomer Ashley Manning was appointed to the Nursing Home Advisory committee.
The board moved into recess to reconvene this Thursday morning at 8:30 am for a workshop at the LeGrande Center, 1800 W. Marion St., Shelby.
The next regular scheduled monthly meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, at 311 E. Marion St., Shelby.
