Staff Reports
Due to expected extreme cold tonight and the potential for refreezing of any remaining precipitation, Cleveland County will operate on a three-hour delayed start on Tuesday, January 27. County offices and services will open at 11:00 a.m.
Impact on County Services:
• Convenience/Recycling Sites: All sites will open at 11:00 a.m., except the Polkville (4732 Peyton Place Rd., Polkville) and Lutz (230 Vic Randall Rd., Lawndale) Convenience Sites, which will remain closed due to icy conditions.
• Landfills: Both landfills will open at 11:00 a.m.
• Foothills Public Shooting Complex: Will open at 12:00 p.m. (noon)
Residents are urged to exercise caution while traveling, as roads and sidewalks may be icy.
The Public Shelter at Shelby High School is now closed, and the Emergency Operations Center has been demobilized as conditions improve and power outages remain minimal.
